Add/Swap Deadline and Drop-In Advising
Dear Undergraduates of Russell Labs,
I hope the start of the semester has been treating you well! I am writing to make sure you are aware of important enrollment deadlines for the Fall 2024 term.
Add Deadline for Most Courses – Friday September 13, 2024

Tuition Refund Deadlines
Tuition refund deadlines differ from the deadlines above. Consult the ‘Refund’ columns on the session dates webpage to understand the financial impact of class changes.
Add Deadlines
The add deadline is the last day you will be able to add or swap a new course for the Fall term (without needing special permission).
Make Sure to Confirm Course Deadlines
Most classes are scheduled during the “regular” session and follow the above deadlines, but a small number of courses are taught in alternative sessions. Always click the “Section dates & deadlines” button in Course Search & Enroll to confirm the deadlines for each course:
Drop-In Advising – Tuesdays and Thursdays During the Academic Year
I will be holding drop-in hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the academic year. Tuesday drop-ins are offered virtually, and Thursday drop-ins are on-campus in Russell Labs 284. You can sign up for drop-ins in Starfish day of, but walk-ins are also welcome. The link to join virtual drop-ins (my personal Zoom meeting room) is available in Starfish, or through the link below in my email signature. If you have a quick question about making last-minute changes to your Fall schedule, drop-ins are a great option. Please continue to schedule an appointment in Starfish for full-length appointments. My availability for ad hoc drop-ins outside of these times is limited but I will do my best to accommodate!
I will be in touch with students with more major-specific information closer to the release of Spring 2025 classes in mid-October, so stay tuned! In the meantime, a sortable list of resources is available on the Russell Lab Student Services website.
