Regular Resource Reminder – New Mental Health Resource for Students
Dear students, faculty, and staff —
As we approach the end of the semester, I write to announce a new partnership that expands 24/7 mental health support for students.
Togetherall is an online, anonymous peer-support tool available for free to UW-Madison students.
- Togetherall is a clinically moderated, online peer-to-peer mental health community that reaches and empowers a diverse population of students to anonymously seek and provide support by sharing their experiences in a safe virtual space.
- The platform integrates with our 24/7 crisis line for any student in need of additional support. It’s also configured with UW-Madison specific resources alongside Togetherall tools.
- Togetherall expands the mental health resources available for UW-Madison students beyond the clinical services at UHS Mental Health Services, and builds on our growing selection of 24/7 online tools, which also include:
- Uwill virtual counseling (a partnership that expands students’ access to one-on-one counseling)
- Connecting Badgers podcast (hosted by our own UHS mental health providers)
- Suicide Prevention Training (versions available for undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty/staff)
What is peer support?
Peer support encompasses a range of activities and interactions between people who share similar experiences of being diagnosed with mental health conditions, substance abuse disorders, or both. This mutuality – often called “peerness” – between peers promotes connection and inspires hope. See the attached infographic from SAMSHA.gov for more information.
Looking for information on additional resources?
Don’t forget the Student Services Resources page on the Russell Labs website. For a comprehensive database of resources both on and off-campus, reference the Resources Comparison Chart Master Doc. This is a downloadable excel spreadsheet with information that is organized by scope, audience, and category.
Please share this information with students and peers far and wide!
